What is a society?

  

A university society is a group of like minded students who get together to interact and develop their interests, beliefs, passions or hobbies. Societies range from course based (e.g. Law, Optometry), faith (e.g. Christian Union, Muslim), hobby based (e.g. Comedy, Poker), political (e.g. Labour, Liberal) or social (e.g. Internationals).

 

Why get involved with a society?

 

Getting involved in a Society can broaden your horizons and improve your social life. By organise your own events you can help enhance your own and other students experience at Caledonian. Being involved is a constructive use of your spare time, helping to develop new skills and improve your CV.

 

When can you get involved?

 

You can get involved at any time with a society, activities can be organised throughout the academic year.

You can find out how to get involved and how to join by visiting the society's webpage, emailing them for more information, going along to one of their meetings or by simply creating your own society.

 

To start your own come to Room NH209 on the 2nd Floor of the Students' Association to arrange a meeting to discuss your idea. The Students' Association can supply the funding and resources to help you organise activities.
