The main function of Glasgow Caledonian University Students' Association (GCUSA) is to REPRESENT students at Glasgow Caledonian University.
It does this at a number of levels, ensuring the Students' Association is run as students want it to be, working with the University to improve the student experience, and at a local and national level on issues affecting our students.
At an individual level, the Students' Association Welfare Department can represent students, for example special factors, academic appeals, disciplinaries and complaints.
The Students' Association is run by students for students. Caledonian Student Parliament is the main legislative body of the Students' Association, instructing the Executive Committee in everything from how the bar is run to the campaigns we run and the issues we raise with the University.
Within GCU, student representatives sit on more or less every committee across the University. From class reps on SSCG, [School Boards], to Senate and University Court. The Students' Association supports all reps at all levels within the University.
On a national level the GCUSA is affiliated to the National Union of Students (NUS) which lobbies and campaigns for students at a Scottish and UK level.
