GCUSA aims to represent all sections of our membership. For specific demographics, we have elected officers or convenors who work on your behalf to keep your issues at the forefront of our work and to help make sure that you get what you deserve from your student experience at Glasgow Caledonian. Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Trans (LGBT) Students
LGBT Students are represented by the LGBT Officer who is a member of both the Executive Committee and Caledonian Student Parliament. They are also represented at a national level through the National Union of Students. There are LGBT positions on both the Scottish Executive Committee and the National Executive Committee. The National LGBT Campaign provides materials and support for Students' Associations, Unions & Guilds across the UK. Your LGBT Officer is elected by LGBT students at Glasgow Caledonian.
 
 
Disabled Students
The Disabled Students Convenor is elected at the first Parliament of the academic year. He/she represents the issues, concerns and interests of all disabled students at Glasgow Caledonian. They are also represented at a national level through the National Union of Students. There are Disabled Students positions in both NUS Scotland and NUS UK. The National Disabled Students Campaign provides materials and support for Students' Associations, Unions & Guilds across the UK.
 
 
Postgraduate Students
Taught and Research Postgraduate Students are represented through your Student Parliament and are elected at the first meeting of the academic year. Between them, they represent the issues, concerns and interests of all postgraduate students at Glasgow Caledonian. Postgraduate Students are Represented nationally by NUS, but are also represented through the National Postgraduate Committee.
 
 
International Students
Approximately 10% of students at Glasgow Caledonian are international students and this figure is set to grow in the next few years. The International Students Officer is a member of both the Exectuve Committee and the Caledonian Student Parliament. They are also represented at a national level through the National Union of Students. There is and International Students Officer on the National Executive Committee. The National International Students Campaign provides materials and support for Students' Associations, Unions & Guilds across the UK. Your LGBT Officer is elected by LGBT students at Glasgow Caledonian.
 
 
Women Students
The Women's Officer represents all female students on campus and is elected by women students at Glasgow Caledonian University. The Women's Officer is a member of both the Executive Committee and Caledonian Student Parliament. They are also represented at a national level through the National Union of Students. There are Women's Officer positions on both the Scottish Executive Committee and the National Executive Committee. The National Women's Campaign provides materials and support for Students' Associations, Unions & Guilds across the UK. Your Women's Officer is elected by female students at Glasgow Caledonian.
 
 
 Mature Students
The Mature Students' Convenor represents all students who were over the age of 21 when they first began their course at University. This represents approximately 20% of students at Glasgow Caledonian. Your Mature Students Convenor sits on Caledonian Student Parliament and is elected at the first meeting of the academic year. They are also represented at a national level through the National Union of Students. There is a Mature Students' Officer on both the Scottish Executive Committee.
