Forensic Society

 The Forensic Society aim to introduce students to the real world of forensics.

 

Although we all love "CSI" we're trying to show how evidence is dealt with in a real context.

 

There are currently around 25-30 members and we only started in October!

 

Events so far have included a presentation from a fire investigator and a trip to the Sheriff Court where we got to listen to a very interesting little court case.

 

So far this semester has been hectic with post-exam stress but we are intending a visit to a DNA lab in Dundee, a trip to the High Court, some more presentations by people who work in the forensics field and hopefully a couple of fun fundraising events. A murder mystery has been the event of choice so far; great for all us budding CSIs.

 

Although current members are predominantly 4th year Forensic Investigation students, we do have a couple of 3rd years and a few psychology students.  We welcome anyone who has an interest in forensics!
