What would I do?
How much time commitment?
You should attend the class rep introductory meeting, class rep training (class room or e-learning based), staff student consultative groups with course staff (which only happen a couple of times a year). Other than that, you can spend as little or as much time on being a class rep as you choose.
How can I become a class rep?
Elections for class reps are organised on courses usually around week 3 of your teaching. You'll probably be told about them or the information will be in your course handbook. If not, contact your course leader to find out how to stand. Any student can stand as a class rep. When you become a class rep you should make sure that your course leader informs the Student Representative Coordinator, Al Wilson, alastair.wilson@gcal.ac.uk in the Students' Association to ensure that you get the information about training, mailings and keep you up-to-date with what's going on.
