Personal Development Seminars
To complete the Student Leaders Programme all participants must attend at least one personal development seminar.
Students completing the Bronze level can choose any one of the following sessions to attend. Students on the Silver and Gold level are not required to attend these seminars as they will be participating in specific, specialised seminars for their level. However, Silver and Gold level students are free to attend any of these seminars which take their fancy!
Below is the list of seminars which will be on offer 2008/2009.
Managing Your Time:

Assess your own ability to manage time and identify where you waste time

Identify and utilise a variety of time-management techniques and make more effective use of your time

Understand the importance of prioritisation and be able to do so more effectively
Effective Communication:

Analyze the importance of effective communication with your membership

Describe what is meant by communication

Describe the cycle of communication

Discuss the importance of active listening and giving feedback

Identify how the use of body language encourages communication

Identify different communication methods and discuss their effectiveness

Teamwork:

Recognise the difference between groups and teams

List the characteristics of an effective team
