Conference '08
The inaugral event for this project was Caledonian Conference '08. It took place in April 2008 and had an attendance of approximately 70 Class Reps. It involved a mixture of presentations, speeches and discussion topics, culminating in a keynote address from Gemma Tumelty, NUS National President. The discussion topic outcomes are currently being considered by the University and will be used to inform the Learning Teaching & Assessment Strategy (LTAS) in the coming months.

President’s Message
Hello and welcome to the Caledonian Conference ‘08 website. The Students’ Association and the University have joined forces to organise this event and I for one am excited about the potential it has to really make an impact at Glasgow Caledonian University.
The Conference provides Class Reps with a fantastic opportunity to find out a little more about what’s already happening, what could happen in the future and what you would like to see happening right now at your University.
We have had a great response from a whole range of University departments in setting up this Conference. Thanks to this partnership, I’m sure you will find a massive amount of new developments and ideas to bring back to your class and your lecturers which will help make your learning experience, your course and your University even better.
I look forward to seeing as many Class Reps as we can squeeze in a room on the 15th of April for Glasgow Caledonian University’s first ever Class Rep Conference.
Jordan Martindale
President 07-08
