Academic Matters
If you're experiencing any academic problems (whether it's a problem with your course, with a lecturer/tutor, or you wish to appeal an exam result) OR have experienced circumstances beyond your control which have affected exam/coursework performace you can fill in a form where the assessment board may take your circumstances into consideration. This form is called a Consideration of Special Factors form (CSFF). You can download a copy from the University Website and if you bring the form to the Welfare Department you can obtain advice on how to complete it and what evidence you may require.
If you have encountered any other academic problem not mentioned, (such as Complaints, Appeals or Harrassment) you can come along to the Welfare Department to discuss it.
Welfare provides information, advice, representation and mediation - meaning we can talk informally or formally with your department on your behalf to help ensure the best outcome for you whatever the problem may be. The most important thing to remember is if there is a problem, don't do nothing and hope it goes away!
There is usually a way to sort out most problems. But this can't happen if you don't tell us what the problem is.
We can also advise, support and represent you at student disciplinaries, if things come to that. You can download a copy of the University Disciplinary Procedure from the University Website.
For help or advice drop into the Welfare Department in North Hanover Street building, or telephone for an appointment on 0141 273 1613 or 0141 273 1609 and a Welfare Adviser will be happy to discuss your issues or concerns. |
