Student accommodation has a notorious reputation. In order to avoid the pitfalls read on and learn about what to expect in your search for the perfect flat. The Welfare Department can help you find suitable accommodation. Please check our accommodation notice board in the foyer for up to date flats, rooms and shared accommodation details.
Anyone who has accommodation to advertise can use this space including students looking for a flat mate, Universities halls of residence and private landlords. If you would like to use this service please speak to the Welfare Adviser as all advertisements need to be GCUSA approved and stamped before going on to the notice board.

The Private Accommodation Database (PAD)
The private accommodation database
is a centralised database of private sector accommodation available to students of the six major Higher Education Institutions in Glasgow. To register you will need your matriculation number, however the staff at the accommodation office can issue a username and password if you do not as yet have a number. PAD contains a list of all types of accommodation available in Glasgow and the surrounding area.

Click on e-mail at the bottom of the page. E-mail your caledonian matriculation number, name and state you are a caledonian student.

They will e-mail you back a registration number.
Part of the PAD sites asks you to click on the postcode of the location you want to stay in. If you click on any postcode this will still take you to the full list of flats available. When you see the list of lats available if you're not sure where in Glasgow the flat is located or indeed how to get there for a viewing, you can use the following Maporama site. All you have to do is under iteneries, type in your starting point and end destination, and a list of directions will be brought up on the screen for you. MAPORAMA>>>
The Welfare Department has produced an Accommodation Handbook with useful information including alternative bed & breakfast and hostel type accommodaton. Pick up a leaflet in the waiting area or speak to the Welfare Adviser who can help.
