As well as supporting you through your time here, we also look for students to get involved through the welfare department. Our volunteer programme is a great way to get involved with the Students' Association, to meet new people and develop your skills. Our volunteers organise and participate in student campaigns (see below for more details). There is no experience needed and we do provide training sessions, which are led by professionals in the chosen campaign area, and are organised in a way to ensure students feel equipped to help out. Being a Welfare Volunteer automatically qualifies you for the Student Leader's Programme. Visit the Student Leaders webpage for more information. Below is a copy of the training programme for 2007/2008. Sessions are on Wednesdays from 5pm, and usually last an hour and an half. The Campaigns and training sessions for 2008/2009 will appear here soon. Campaigns As a Welfare Volunteer, you will be involved in promoting campaigns to the rest of the student population throughout the academic year. The campaigns for 2007/2008 were: Two of our Welfare Volunteers, Chris and Louise, helping out on the 'SHAG' stall.
