Every level of every programme at GCU is required to have at least one Class Rep, many have two and some have more than that. In order to become a Class Rep you have to be elected by students on your course. What usually happens is that in the first few weeks of the academic year one of your lectures (usually the programme organiser) will ask if anyone would like to be the class representative.
If more students want to volunteer than there are places available then an election should be held to decide who get to be the Reps. Once chosen as Class Rep your details are passed on to the Students’ Association and we get in touch to offer you training to support you in your new role.
If you are unsure if you have a Class Rep or you are yet to be asked by anyone then please approach your Programme Organiser for more information.
Each department within every academic school at GCU has a School Officer. Find out about your School Officer.
Every year the Students' Association organises Student Summit (Trimester 1) and Caledonian Conference (Trimester 2) to bring Class Reps and School Officers together to discuss the student learning experience at GCU.
