To join this society go to the Students' Assciation Reception.
The Law Society is a social club as well as offering lots of extra-curricular activities. It aims to engage law students in their course. It is not exclusive to law students – it is open to all students and staff alike.
We hold social events, nights out, pub quizzes, and the end of year Law Ball which is always a real highlight. As well as this, we offer employability seminars and guest lectures from some of the most esteemed members of the legal profession; in previous years we have welcomed Shami Chakrabarti, the late Paul McBride QC and Lord Reed of the Supreme Court. As well as this we hold an annual mooting competition, where students from all years compete in a mock courtroom situation. Most of these extra-curricular events include a ‘refreshment’ time afterwards where everybody can unwind.
Getting involved in the Law Society helps a lot of students to stay engaged in their degree and many enjoy the degree all the more because of the Law Society. As well as this, it introduces you to people from other years of your course and they can offer you advice. Whether you are looking for a social club to join, looking to boost your CV with extra-curricular events or just looking to engage more in your subject, the Law Society is definitely worth a look.
