Who we are:

The Nutrition Group was created with the aim to get students at GCU involved in, and be made aware of, issues related to food and nutrition. Set up in 2011 by a group of enthusiastic Dietetic students, we aim to expand our knowledge and share information between like-minded people. It would be great to recruit students from a variety of courses that have an interest in nutrition involved the group.

What we offer:

Last year the Nutrition group attended several off-campus activities such as: Visit to the fruit & veg markets, Botanic Gardens visit to see food plants growing, Day trip to the Food & Drink Conference, Perth.
This coming year we aim to visit: Tunnock’s Factory in Uddingston, attend the BBC Good Food Show held at the Glasgow SECC in 2013, and also revisit the fruit & veg markets and botanic gardens after the success of last year. An annual trip away is hoped to be organised too, so keep an eye out.
We also plan to organise a few awareness days related to food, (e.g. salt awareness day) and arrange cooking class/demonstration for students with a limited budget.

Look out for email updates on events as the academic year goes on!
