Every year GCU students are recognised and acknowledged for outstanding sporting achievement or voluntary service to sports club, these outstanding students are presented an award at the Annual Awards Ball. Below are the criteria for all the Sports Awards and links to the nomination forms.

Certificates

Performance (Nomination Form Link)
■Blues: Awarded for consistent, exceptional performance and outstanding accomplishments throughout the academic year.
■Half Blues: Awarded for consistent, outstanding performance and accomplishments throughout the academic year.

Volunteering (Nomination Form Link)
■Colours: Awarded for exceptional service to a Sports Club (incl. culmination of years of commitment) or active involvement as a volunteer committee member organising sports activities.

Trophies

■Sports Person of the Year (Nomination Form Link)
Awarded to the person(s) who has had the most outstanding, best performance or achievement for the academic year.
■Team of the Year (Nomination Form Link)
Awarded to the team with best overall performance for the academic year.
■Ross Baillie Award (Nomination Form Link)
Awarded to the student(s) who has given the most outstanding voluntary commitment and contribution to a Sports Club for the academic year.
■Coach of the Year (Nomination Form Link)
Awarded to the student volunteer for coaching a sports club, who has given exceptional service and outstanding voluntary commitment to a Sports Club for the academic year.
■Alex Goodman Trophy (Nomination Form Link)
Awarded to the 1st year student who has shown the most outstanding commitment & service to a sports club for the academic year.
■Club of the Year (Nomination Form Link)
Awarded to a Sports Club that has had the most extraordinary academic year taking into account the number of activities, visibility and profile, interaction with members, social events, fundraisers and overall development.
