For an activity to be deemed an organised sports club, society or other volunteering group event or activity, one or more of the following must be recognised:
There are many aspects to organising activites, events and trips. The most important element is to start preparation as early as possible. For more information on organising activities and tips and hints DOWNLOAD the Organising Activities document.
Activity Registration
Established good practice requires our volunteering groups to let the Students’ Association know when and where they are going, and also to inform them of what they intend on doing when they get there. Any recognised group activity revolves around activity registration. This acts as means of communication between the group and the Students’ Association.
There are two types of Activity Registration and one or the other should be completed before any activity begins.
Activity Timetable
All regular weekly group activities (primarily sports clubs) are listed in the Sports Club Timetable for the year.
Trip Registration
When a group is travelling to an activity out-with the Glasgow area a Trip Registration Form should be completed prior to the activity. A Trip Registration Form notifies the Students’ Association of the group's intended activity, who will be participating and the group's proposed contingency plans.
