Academic Appeals & Special Factors
The Welfare Advisers can offer advice and guidance on the procedures for Academic Regulations including appeals and special factors. This will include discussing your personal circumstances, practical help and support for completing the appropriate paperwork within the deadlines and gathering any relevant evidence that may be required. We also offer ongoing support throughout the whole process including valuable aftercare.

Student Disciplinaries & Plagiarism Investigations
Have you been accused of suspected plagiarism on your submitted coursework? Has there been an allegation made against you by the Senate Disciplinary Committee for breaking the Student Code of Discipline? If the answer is yes then the Welfare Advisers can offer practical help, support and representation to students facing these difficulties. Please don’t suffer in silence and get in touch with one of the Advisers as soon as possible to help you through the process.

Listening and support
Coming to University for the first or even second time can be daunting and challenging. You might be experiencing problems on your course or difficulties trying to juggle family and University commitments. If you have any issues or concerns why not pop along to the Welfare Department and have a chat with one of our Advisers. We can listen in confidence and help you work out solutions that will hopefully help you to move forward. Sometimes having the opportunity to speak to an independent person is all you will need to help you feel better and think more clearly and positively.
